The new 482 models are in production now. It will still be several weeks before they are available.

Pardon my ignorance, I've searched but not found anything - what's changed with the 482's?

I would like to know what the new functionality is as well and if it could just be swapped in for a 462?

Excellent question:
1. Portability of Backup
2. API Calls
3. Wiring Differences to DINs, OUT (SSRs) and Probes?
4. Control Voltage
5. # of Outputs and # PWM
6. # of DINs
7. Temp Probe # (Type and Number) Compatible with existing Probes?
8. RTD and 4-20 mA support?
9. I2C Support

Re: #4, will it have a DAC for true variable analog voltage output?

482 sounds exciting!
"replacement" usually means limiting/ending support of the older product(s).
- what is your support plan for 460?
- will you offer a replacement program for current 460/462 owners?

We could no longer produce the 460/462 due to end-of-life of the processors. Switching to a new processor gave us the capability to design the new units for the expansion options we've always wanted but could not do (due to lack of i/o & memory on the old processor). The new 482 shares a code base with the 460/462, so we still plan on supporting firmware updates to those units for anything that is not 482 specific.
