I have a BCS-462 controller. I would like to use the extension outputs. Are those extension outputs able to be programmed?

I can see in the settings that they can be assigned to temperature probes. How do the extension outputs work?

The expansion ports Exp0/Exp1 are limited to driving LED displays for the temp probes.

From the docs: http://docs.embeddedcc.com/settings/

Expansion Devices
LED display devices can be added to the BCS by connecting them to the EXP0 and EXP1 connections. LED displays are useful when you are building control box and/or you want to display temperatures without having to use a computer. LED displays are available from retailers like Brewers Hardware. To associate a temperature probe with an LED display, enter the correct address for LED (most ship with the default address of 0x2a, follow the manufacturers directions for the customizing the address) then choose the associated temperature probe.

Expansion board was not already available when I bought my BCS-462. Third party expansion board was recommended that is controlled by i2c bus.

I installed ByVac bv4627. So it has got useless as extra programmable outputs since the i2c bus is not programmable any longer.

Do you have any idea to solve the problem?
Did earlier firmwares include programmable i2c outputs?

The expansion bus has never been programmable to use with 3rd party expansion boards. Whoever recommended that to you gave you bad info.

Unfortunately, in the context of the conversation in the thread, it was a discussion about what could possibly be a replacement for the expansion boards.
