Trouble connecting wireless client

Post by bbrally »

I've had to replace my old asus router and bought a small trendnet router/accesspoint/client. (TRW-654TR)

It works as an access point and a router, but when trying to use it as a client (which I believe is what I want to use it as to wireless my BCS) it doesn't seem to transmit a wireless signal.

I'm starting to think it might be defective.

I should be able to find an SSID for it shouldn't I?

Sometimes there is an option for "Broadcast SSID". Make sure this is enabled.

Problem solved, seems I just needed to get some sleep.

I got up this morning and the client was broadcasting it's SSID. I don't know why I couldn't see it last night but that problem was solved.

Then the client couldn't see the BCS.

An hour was spent until I tried connecting to the BCS directly and couldn't do that either.

A hard reset and everyhting now works.

If I don't count those two problems setting this up only took about five minutes.

Glad you're running. I've found that sometimes it can take a few minutes (or more) for some of the wireless bridges to 'sync up' with the rest of the network. This can be very frustrating to say the least when you're trying to connect for the first time.
