Ramp up and Hold

Post by gbrewer »

How many BCS 460 users are using the ramp up feature? I currently have added a few steps that I am interested in trying out. I added a from ramping up to 168 and then holding for ten minutes. I am excited to try these additional steps together.

My mash now does the following..

Holds temperature at 150 - 154 degrees (depening on style) for 60 minutes
ramps up from 154 to 168 degrees in ten minutes
Holds temperature for ten minutes at 168 degrees.

For those who are using the ramp, are you having any difficulty?

I have not used it in brewing, but have used the ramp feature for my fermentation. I used it most recently to cold crash my Irish Red... took it from 63F to 35F over 48 hours... beautiful. Have used it in this capacity three times now.
