Seems to be working so far. Still tweaking screen layout. Challenge is getting it to fit on the screen, using a 7" touchscreen. I will end up using a pen stylus to use the screen with no key board or mouse.

No luck for me... crashes harder than Mr. Magoo piloting an F15.

At first the main screen comes up, then when I go to the settings tab it crashes. I figured this was due to the wrong IP, so I edited the config file and entered the correct IP. Now it crashes right upon startup.

I am running RPi 2 vB, with Raspian Jessie.

I will have to somehow get the dump to you...

Send me your XML config files.

I've had an issue where my BCS returned some garbage characters in the strings and the XML parser choked on them.

I didn't change anything other than the IP address in the config-settings.xml. It is therefore loading config-layout-jonw.xml

Unless you are talking about different XML?

Did you retrieve the names from your BCS?

Might be a Jessie/Mono issue too. The last version I tested on was Wheezy.

I do recall some issues loading Jessie, but I didn't have time to figure out the problem. If you can go to Wheezy, you're probably fine.

Something else you can try BrunDog is to copy the EXE and XML files to a Windows PC and see if it fires up correctly. That will validate the config file.

I think I'm going to have to setup a Pi with Jessie to see what the problem is.

Edit: If you guys used my original install instructions, then you are likely running the Wheezy mono binaries on Jessie which is causing the problem. I'm going to need to find if there are specific binaries available for Jessie.

I was able to run it on the PC.

Maybe a Jessie issue... don't know. I will try to send you the output.

Just a side note to this thread, when I couldn't make screen sizing work I loaded the system on my Mac and developed the xml screens on it. Then I moved the file over to the RPI.
I'm running the RPI 2 B as well.

So far, the only common thing I'm seeing with you two having issues is using Jessie. There are several others on Wheezy that aren't seeing this.

BrunDog - did you also add the mono-vbnc module?

Can you load up Wheezy and see how it goes?

Yes, I did the install correctly.

I may have a wheezy card, let me see if that's possible.
