Am I able to trigger an alarm with out a state change?
For example I would like to trigger an alarm after a timer = 60 minutes and then wait for user input to continue. Do I have to create another state in order to wait for that input?

Re: Alarm without state change
The only way to trigger an alarm is with a state change. The process that you describe would be two states.
Re: Alarm without state change
I have thought about using one of the outputs to drive an external alarm... like a light or buzzer.
Not sure if that adds more options?
