Post by Jeskate »

I am looking for a Digi16 expansion card but cannot seem to find one. Does anyone have one for sale?

I think that the roadmap for 4.0 does NOT support the Digi 16 as they did not work as "designed" before. There is no support in the beta. Prehaps someone else can tell you more if there is an new and improved one in the works or expansion boards are really dead.

The Digi16 did work as designed, but that original design had serious limitations that didn't really work for most peoples processes. For those that are not aware, only one process at a time can control any outputs on the Digi board, so they cannot be used like the standard built-in outputs across multiple processes. There were very few boards sold, so the decision was made to not expend resources on building new ones or maintaining code in the future versions. For those that have them, they continue to work with the 3.x software just fine.

So what are people doing that need a few more additional inputs/outputs than the 462 offers? Starting to wish I went the PLC route for flexibility. Any thoughts?

Well I went with more 462's, divided them in to specific tasks like Mash, Brew, etc., as when I looked into the Expansions I could have had 1-2 BCS doing all but yea they were not what was expected.

So the down side is a bit more cost but the upside is in a failure you have backups, just pull in your back up and go.
